Goodnight Ophelia describes the life of a rather naughty woman dying of cancer - and her relationship with those around her as she does. It is also a whodunnit of a genealogical kind; till late in her life Jo - Jane Ophelia does not know her parentage. Despite its theme it is far from a gloomy book; 'uplifting' -one review. Well well.

Penelope Farmer has written for adults and children all her life. Her calling card is Charlotte Sometimes, never out of print. Most recently she has published Goodnight Ophelia   the theme of which has suddenly thrown up unwelcome echoes in her own life. Leading to her new blog. Hullo and goodbye cancer...Again.
